Full Time Infant Assistant Teacher (Ankeny)

Up to $500 company bonus available

We are seeking an attentive individual who would like to care for infants, ages 6 weeks through 12 months. This person will get to follow varying schedules, maintain infant hygeine, monitor supplies and postiively interact and engage with babies.

ASSISTANT TEACHER

Teaching

  1. Assists in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
  2. Shows ability to lead the direction of the program when lead teacher is absent.
  3. Treat children with compassion, dignity, respect and guide them by:
    1. Keeping rules simple and easy to understand
    2. Talking with children- not at them
    3. Setting a good example
    4. Teaching children how to correct their misbehavior
    5. Teaching children it is ok to make mistakes
    6. Teaching children how to resolve conflict and how to apologize
    7. Catching children being good and giving praise to build their self concept
    8. Giving clear and simple choices
  4. General every day clean up after meals and activities.
  5. Is up moving in the classroom and participating with children and helping assist the lead.
  6. Willingness to support management, DHS and QRS with best practice standards in individual classroom and throughout the center.
  7. Establish a positive image as a role model for our children and families.
  8. Follows all Little Endeavors policies.
  9. Be kind and fair to all children in the classroom without demeaning them, secluding them or embarrassing them.
  10. Up to date on all personal requirements set by DHS.

*Completes and DHS requirements on trainings, background checks, and physical in a timely manner after being hired or annually.
